Overview

SiteTalkie is an offline Bluetooth mesh messaging and site intelligence app for construction sites, operated by SiteTalkie (sole trader, UK-based).

By using the app or website, you agree to these terms.

The Service

SiteTalkie provides offline messaging, location-pinned hazard alerts, snag management, and site communication features via Bluetooth Low Energy mesh networking. The service requires Bluetooth to be enabled on your device.

Message delivery depends on the proximity and number of other SiteTalkie users nearby — we cannot guarantee message delivery as the mesh network is decentralised and depends on physical conditions.

SiteTalkie is a communication tool, not a certified safety system. It should be used alongside (not as a replacement for) your existing site safety procedures, emergency communication plans, and regulatory obligations.

Cost

SiteTalkie is free. All features — text messaging, voice notes, photos, SOS alerts, hazard pins, channels, end-to-end encryption — are available to every user at no cost. There are no paid tiers, no subscriptions, and no in-app purchases.

Your Responsibilities

• You must be at least 16 years old to use SiteTalkie
• You are responsible for the content you share via the mesh network
• Do not use SiteTalkie to send illegal, abusive, threatening, or harassing content
• Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or interfere with the mesh networking protocol
• Do not use SiteTalkie to distribute malware or spam
• If you create hazard pins or safety alerts, ensure they are accurate and genuine. False safety alerts endanger lives.

Safety Disclaimer

SiteTalkie is designed to improve communication on construction sites but is NOT a replacement for statutory safety systems.

Bluetooth mesh range depends on physical environment, device hardware, and the number of relay nodes — it is not guaranteed.

SiteTalkie does not replace two-way radios, fire alarms, PA systems, or any legally required emergency communication systems.

Employers retain full responsibility for meeting their obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, CDM Regulations 2015, Confined Spaces Regulations 1997, and all other applicable legislation.

We are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from reliance on SiteTalkie as a sole communication method.

Intellectual Property

SiteTalkie, the SiteTalkie logo, and all associated branding are the property of SiteTalkie.

The app's mesh networking layer is derived from BitChat (open source, public domain).

You retain ownership of any content you create and share through the app.

Data and Privacy

Your use of SiteTalkie is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

Messages are end-to-end encrypted and we cannot access their content. See the Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.

Limitation of Liability

SiteTalkie is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed £100.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email where possible.

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
